INTERWOOD HOP 25/1300 500T Multi Daylight Veneer Press

INTERWOOD HOP 25/1300 500T Multi Daylight Veneer Press

Interwood HOP 25/1300: 500-Tonne Multi-Daylight Hydraulic Veneer Press

High-Volume Precision Pressing for Industrial Door and Panel Production

The Heavy-Duty Standard for Commercial Veneering

The Interwood HOP 25/1300 is engineered for high-output environments requiring consistent, high-tonnage pressure across multiple workpieces simultaneously.  This upstroke, multi-daylight machine is the industry benchmark for laminating and veneering MDF, chipboard, security doors, and flush doors.  Utilising an oil-heated hydraulic system and 8 heavy-duty cylinders, the HOP 25/1300 ensures uniform heat distribution and pressure, critical for the curing of high-performance adhesives in batch production.

Industrial Applications & Capacity

Designed for the rigours of 24/7 production lines, this 18,500kg machine provides the stability required for:

  • High-Volume Door Manufacturing: 5-daylight openings allow for the simultaneous pressing of multiple flush or security doors.
  • Specialised Panel Work: Perfect for laminate panels, furniture fronts, and composite insulation materials.
  • Bespoke Fitting Production: Adjustable closing speeds and temperature control up to 120 Celsius allow for delicate veneer work on high-end interior fittings.

Why Choose Interwood Engineering?

As the exclusive manufacturer of Interwood machinery, Allwood provides unmatched technical support and re-commissioning services.

  • Solid Steel Platens: Unlike fabricated platens, our 40mm solid steel construction prevents warping under 500T of pressure.
  • Uniform Heat Transfer: The integrated oil-heating system ensures no cold spots, guaranteeing a perfect bond across the entire 2500mm table.
  • Bespoke Integration: This unit can be integrated into fully automated through-feed production lines.

Site Preparation & Installation Checklist

For Interwood HOP 25/1300 Multi-Daylight Veneer Press

Because of the high-tonnage pressure and significant weight of the HOP 25/1300, specific site conditions must be met prior to delivery and installation.  We do go through this with you at the time of purchase.  If you wish you can use this checklist as a guide to ensure your facility is prepared.

1.  Structural & Floor Loading

The total weight of this machine is 18,500 kg.  This requires a reinforced concrete foundation to prevent settling or cracking under static and dynamic loads.

  • Minimum Floor Specification: A minimum of 200mm-250mm reinforced concrete slab is typically required.
  • Leveling: The floor must be level within 2mm over the entire 4150mm x 1800mm footprint to ensure even platen pressure and oil circulation.
  • Vibration Dampening: While the machine is a static press, specialised mounting pads are recommended to protect the floor and ensure longevity.

2.  Electrical & Power Supply

The HOP25/1300 is a high-demand thermal and hydraulic system.

  • Heating Load: The oil-heating system requires 84kw.
  • Motor/Hydraulic Load: 7.5kw
  • Total Connection: Ensure your local substation or internal board can handle a dedicated 100kw draw.
  • Isolator Placement: A lockable rotary isolator should be installed within 2 meters of the machine's final position for safety and maintenance.

3.  Clearances & Workspace

To ensure safe operation and maintenance access, observe the following "Clear Zone" requirements:

  • Front/Rear Access: Minimum 1500mm clearance for loading/unloading and platen maintenance.
  • Side Access: Minimum 1000mm for hydraulic pump and oil heater service panels.
  • Vertical Clearance: The machine stands at 2550mm.  Ensure at least 500mm of overhead clearance for ventilation and hydraulic hose movement.

4.  Logistics & Delivery Access

Moving 18.5 tonnes requires specialised equipment.

  • Access Route: Ensure all bay doors and internal gangways can accommodate a 1.8m width and have a floor rating capable of supporting the machine and the transport skates/forklift.
  • Offloading: A heavy-duty crane or specialised machinery moving skates will be required.
  • Relocation Services: Allwood offers a Turnkey Relocation & Commissioning Service - we can manage the entire move from our facility to your production line.

Environmental & Safety

  • Ventilation: While the oil system is closed-loop, the 120 Celsius operating temperature and adhesive curing process required a well-ventilated area or local exhaust ventilation (LEV).
  • Commissioning: Initial heating cycles must be monitored by a qualified engineer to ensure air is purged from the oil lines.

Finance & Return on Investement(ROI)

Transforming Capital Expenditure into Production Profit

Investing in the Interwood HOP 25/1300 is more than a machinery purchase; it is a strategic upgrade to your production capacity.  For many of our clients, the machine's increased efficiency pays for its own financing costs within the first few months of operation.

1.  The Power of "5-Daylight" ROI

The primary driver of ROI for this machine is the multi-daylight system.  Unlike a standard single-opening press, the HOP 25/1300 allows you to press five times the volume in a single heating cycle.

2.  Labour & Waste Reduction

  • Reduced Staff idle Time: By pressing five workpieces at once, your team spends less time waiting for curing cycles and more time on preparation and finishing.
  • Precision Consistency: The 500-tonne uniform pressure reduces "rejects" caused by uneven bonding or cold spots, significantly lowering material waste.
  • Automation Ready: This machine is designed to be the heart of a bespoke production line, allowing for future integration of automated loaders to further reduce headcount requirements.

3.  Flexible Finance Options

We understand that high-tonnage machinery is a significant investment.  Allwood Machinery can point you in the right direction for finance options which can offer:

  • Hire Purchase (HP): Spread the cost over 3-5 years while retaining ownership and benefiting from capital tax allowances.
  • Finance Leasing: Lower monthly outgoings with VAT spread over the term of the agreement, aiding monthly cash flow.

4.  UK Tax Advantages (Capital Allowances)

The HOP 25/1300 qualifies as Plant and Machinery.  In many cases, UK businesses can take advantage of Annual Investment Allowances (AIA), allowing you to deduct the full value of the investment from your taxable profits in the year of purchase.

Note: We recommend consulting with your accountant to confirm the specific tax benefits available to your business.
