Does Your Woodworking Machinery Meet Current UK Safety Regulations

Nov 17, 2016

We were contacted by Contrax Furniture in oxford to carry out an inspection of their old Interwood HEP Press.

We found it lacked any of the current safety equipment that is now required on all woodworking presses to adhere to UK safety regulations.

Contrax had the option to have the safety equipment fitted or to purchase a new machine, which would have the correct safety equipment and meet their new requirements.

Contrax Furniture decided to order a new Interwood HOP31/1550/EU/ST press, but with a bigger daylight.

We contacted our fantastic supplier in Italy, who make our presses for us and are able to ship the machines directly to us or our customers location.

Contrax Furniture's machine was to be made without the solid steel platens.  As solid steel platen constitutes such a high percentage of the overall press costs, we have the platens made and supplied to us by our factory in China.  This enables us to offer the presses at a more competitive price then if we sourced these parts from Europe or England.

If you require an inspection of your woodworking machinery to know whether it meets current safety regulations please do not hesitate contacting us for advice - 01621 859477.
